The American Heart Association published in January 2017 that on average, someone in the US has a stroke every 40 seconds and someone dies of a stroke every 4 minutes. More than 300,000 Americans die of cardiac arrest each year, and more than 95% of cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital
The standard care available is CPR.
